Today, I want to talk to you about reality television shows in real estate. They’re not real!
For instance, think about House Hunters. It’s incredibly entertaining. Buyers look at three homes and miraculously purchase one! Another episode might feature an open house that attracts forty people. Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen here. This show only stages the good of the real estate process without all the hard work behind the scenes.
Oftentimes, these buyers have already purchased a home ahead of time. They go back and film as if they were looking at two new homes as if they were considering them before they made their purchase. How else can they guarantee a buyer will end up purchasing a home by the end of the show?
In reality, the behind-the-scenes work and the leg work is more arduous. That’s why you need a qualified, experienced Realtor to mediate the process, which might include looking at three or 300 homes. You need someone to recruit prospective buyers through effective marketing and networking.
If you’re thinking about buying or selling a Connecticut home, reach me by phone or email! I look forward to working with you sometime soon.
