Hey everyone, today I am here to talk about buyer’s remorse. I recently had a client of mine under contract ask, “Is this really the house for me?” We had a lengthy discussion about this and a couple of things came to bear from it.
The first thing you should ask yourself is if you are ready for this move. What factors are contributing to your need to move? In this particular case, our client was a renter who wanted to own her own home, so we knew she had the motivation.
The second thing to consider is how many homes you have looked at. I have had first-time buyers purchase after seeing one or two homes, and I’ve seen people that own multiple homes look at 50 of them and still not buy. It really comes down to your personal style and price range to determine if this is the home for you.
Finally, on an emotional level, can you call it a home? It shouldn’t be just a house to you, it should be a place you and your family can live in for years to come.
If all of these things match up together, you have probably found the right home and you can stop worrying about buyer’s remorse.
If you have any questions, be sure to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to working with you soon!
